While historians are not certain about some details, there is no
doubt that the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was established in
St. Louis, Missouri at the Basilica of St. Louis, King of France,
popularly called "The Old Cathedral," in 1845.
Since that date it has spread from every corner of
the country and been a shining light for the countless thousands
in need, those citizens that for whatever reason have fallen through
the cracks of society and need immediate assistance in any number
of manners.
Saint Vincent de Paul has played a huge role
in smoothing the rocky road of life for many in need during its
150 plus years of existence and looks to a future filled with a
charitable success.
